We went to La Plata just to visit this cathedral and it was worth it. We were bot aware that there was a museum and a lift that takes you several stores close to the top of the cathedral. That was quite impressive and interesting. If you have visited lots of this type of cathedrals in Europe you probably will not get the excitement but this not thst commonly find in LatinAmerica.

Attended the Coldplay Concert last night Was in such a rush to buy tickets as they would be playing in “Buenos Aires” at the same time we were due to be there on holiday We were staying in Buenos Aires and I spent a lot of time reading about how to get to the Stadium 50-60km from BA ! None of it made good reading !! The Stadium is situated in a trading estate just off the motorway Public transport from BA is a no no We ended up hiring a driver for the night It cost but worth every penny Took 2hrs to get to the location from Cenral BA traffic was a nightmare Got dropped off walked 5 blocks and we were in Thank God we had a driver as there is nothing around locally No taxis or public transport If you attend a gig there I suggest stay in La Plata or hire a driver as its a long way out of BA The concert was great and the Stadium is fantastic just getting there from BA is a nightmare

If you like science and astronomy, this is the place to go when visiting La Plata. We went with the children and they really enjoyed the visit. The people working there are very receptive to questions. Do not miss it.

This place, now a park, was a former military headquarter. Only the main building still remains in place and the whole site (3 blocks by 1 block in size) is now a very nice park where people goes to exercise in the mornings or the afternoon, running or just walking around the whole perimeter. You have old beautiful trees, grass where you can picnic or just lay down and watch the sky. There are some games for children, like slides, hammocks, seesaw, etc. In the main building there is a cultural center, where you can see exhibitions from time to time, some music bands and other activities. Also in the main building you can find a very good restaurant & cafe, which was lately renewed and improved. The food is very good, as well as the cakes and coffees, there are tables inside and outside the place, so you can enjoy the fresh air in summer nights.
In the weekends you can find attractions, like musicians, bands or entertainers , and certainly the artisans fair that comes (if I'm not wrong) the second weekend of every month. You can buy from food to clothes there at good prices. In October they celebrate kind of Oktoberfest and the fair es dedicated to good beer and food only.
In summer, you have almost every weekend a show, featuring local music bands or soloist singers. Sunny days use to be very crowded, so you must go early to get a place or a table outside.
