We took a trip to La Jolla to see the sea lions and were ready to have a late lunch. Cody’s was open with upstairs outside seating and we needed to use the restroom. It just so happened happy hour began and they gave us...the $9 menu and $5 specialty drinks. We had fish tacos, the burger, Brussel Sprouts, bruschetta, and artichoke crab dip. All Fabulous! We did not expect the good food and great service.More

The restaurant has an open, bright and clean interior plus a large outdoor area as well. Cody's gives off a positive vibe. We ate breakfast here three times in the 10 days we were in La Jolla and would have eaten breakfast here many more...times if we'd have found Cody's earlier on. We also had a late lunch (be aware that the restaurant closes at 4:00) and great beer one day. The food is very good but it's the wait staff that make Cody's really special -- nice guys all of them. I remember Tyler especially as he chatted with my husband about beer and recommended one that my husband loved and ordered exclusively thereafter. Cody's is truly lovely and I highly recommend it. Have the blueberry pancakes!More

We stopped in here for brunch on a Sunday because the La Jolla visitor's website ranked it as one of the most dog friendly. We arrived in La Jolla and had to do a bit of searching for parking but we eventually found a spot...about a block away. This restaurant is located on the second floor so look up for the flags and then head up the stairs. We were there pretty early it was about 10am. We only had to wait for about 5 minutes. We had a really great spot along the railing with a great view of the beach down the street. We both started off with cocktails. My husband had the mule and I ordered the blood orange old fashioned. I thought with the dog friendly rating we wouldn't have to ask for a bowl of water for our dog but we did. They quickly brought one our way. We then ordered our meal. I had chilaquiles (based on the large amount of excellent reviews) and my husband ordered the french toast with a side of sausage. They do have a dog menu that has 2 thins on it...eggs or grilled chicken both are $4. We ordered the eggs for our dog. The food arrived pretty quickly. The french toast was killer and adding the side of sausage was an excellent call. These were both extremely delicious. I also thought the flavor in the chilaquiles was excellent but they were just soaked in the beans...so it took away that nice hint of crispness great Chilaquiles need. Our dogs eggs arrived in a cute little plastic do bowl. I think there was at least 2 eggs scrambled for her. Given that she is only 21 lbs, this is a large serving size. We cut it in half for her and let it cool before serving. She LOVED them. Overall good cocktails and good food and it was great to be able to bring our dog and spoil her a little.More

Only thing fresh were the eggs. Potatoes mushy watery and gross 🤮. Toast was cracker like no bend to sour dough toast. Not even butter and jelly could save it. Waiter no were to be found and over charged by about $20!!!! Never ever recommending...this place again. Was so embarrassed as I had brought a special person for breakfast. We were served after people who were seated after us had eaten and were leaving when we finally got our mush and cracker toast. Others were offered drinks to go we couldn’t even get ice for our water. Digusting!!!! 🤮🤮🤮More

Really enjoyed this place. We stayed in La Jolla from out of town to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. Part of the reason I chose to stay in the area where this restaurant is located was so that my boyfriend, Cody, and I could eat at...Cody's. We ate breakfast here and were very pleased with the food. Our server, Gabaum, was very nice and attentive and when we were finished with our meal the staff was very quick to take away our dishes. Would definitely come back here when next in La Jolla.More

Cody's is our go to brunch spot when we're visiting La Jolla. They've changed locations since our last visit and have moved from a little cottage into the second floor of a building that offers nice ocean views. I had the appropriately named "Awesome French...Toast" that consisted of griddled challah bread, toasted walnuts, fresh strawberries, and mascarpone honey butter and also ordered a side of bacon to share. The French toast was delicious, and the bacon was crisp and perfectly prepared. My husband had a healthy breakfast salad that he enjoyed. The service was excellent - very warm, friendly, and professional without being pretentious. The new patio is pretty with colorful patio umbrellas, fresh flowers, and beach club vibes. If you're looking for a place to relax and enjoy brunch, I can't think of a better spot.More

Ate lunch here. We ate the crab cakes Benedict and a beet salad. I’m not a fan of crab, soft cooked eggs or hollandaise sauce, but the combination of the flavors was incredible. Salad was awesome as well. Would definitely recommend this place.

Our 2 guests ordered shrimp cervice, which they said was inedible. One of our guests is a chef and he said that he thought the shrimp had already turned bad! The rest of our meals were OK, but nothing special or worth writing home about....The prices were a bit high mediocre food, especially considering that 1 order was inedible. Would not recommend.More

Very popular and deservedly so;. Great setting, stunning view, superb casual food and an an amazing social and fun vibe. It all comes together as an extraordinary fusion of food, drink and experience. Go and experience for yourself, with great friends. Of note, the restaurant...has large outdoor seating and open areas and they are uniquely and exceedingly exhaustive in disinfecting tables and seats and careful in food preparation. Open air dining is the safest setting for non-viral transmission...and you’ll also get that magnificent view.More

The service and food here was very good. We sat on patio overlooking the street and view of the ocean. Very pretty. Restaurant was clean and courteous prompt service. I had the breakfast salad with two poached eggs on top. The eggs were cooked perfectly...and dressing on salad was exceptional especially when the yolk mixed with the dressing and greens. Great place to grab a quick bite while visiting La Jolla cove, or just walking around shopping.More

We go to La Jolla several times a year and have gone for lunch at Cody's a number of times with generally good food and service. Unfortunately, the lunch today did not meet the mark. I ordered the chicken sandwich however didn't read the menu...close enough. After my first bite, I thought something was off and found the meal unpleasant. After leaving the restaurant, I checked the menu to learn that the chicken sandwich was made with chicken thighs. It was there in black and white but I missed it. Hard to believe a $21 chicken burger was made with a $1.25 piece of chicken thigh. Wouldn't recommend it. Service was fine, view from the patio of the ocean is nice however we will look for other opportunities on our next visit.More

I ordered the crab cakes and eggs. The crab cakes were not well-cooked and the eggs were overcooked. The location and the view was good, but the this place is VERY overpriced and the service was slow... Their tables and chairs were not clean, as...well as their restrooms :-/More

Atmosphere fantastic with indoor/outdoor experience. Service friendly to go with it. Price point for the value is way too high. 6 people in our group with 5 different dishes and the best we got was “ok.” Everything was dramatically under seasoned…even the French toast which...is hard to do. Burger (recommended to me) was under cooked and under seasoned and the hand cut fries were dry and bland. They made no adjustments with the feedback reflecting poor leadership.More

Cody's is a wonderful location in the middle of La Jolla upstairs with views of the ocean, very pretty! The hostess was not very friendly and after we were seated we waited and waited and waited. Then the waiter took a drink order and we...waited and waited and waited. The food was good, nothing special and the service really spoiled the experience. Lots of great places in the area to go to instead of Cody'sMore

We stopped here for lunch after a morning of walking along the coast taking in the beauty of La Jolla Cove. We LOVED the food and the service was great. We ordered the Cody's Burger with fries and one of their salads w/chicken. Everything was...fresh and tasted delicious. Diego was our server and he was super sweet & attentive. Prices were reasonable. Great find!More

My recollection is that there was parking nearby but if your in La Jolla you should expect to do a fair amount of walking up and around hills.
