What travelers are saying
- CrazyBubba007Pittsburgh, PA38 contributionsBeautiful place, views are great, sea lions are so cool! You can easily spend a few hours here. Make sure to eat at George’s restaurant, great view of the ocean and seals and great food albeit a little price but nothing is cheap anymore. No need to take a tour, you can easily walk and see everything.Written May 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Terri DefilippiReno, NV4 contributionsThis monument is beautiful. It is so nicely maintained. We were lucky enough to speak with a docent who showed us all the well known people on the plaques. The 360 degree views are breathtaking. I highly recommend it.Written March 9, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EdwelshNorth Canton, OH4,731 contributionsStopped on Saturday morning, but no paraglides were flying. But it’s a great place for scenic views of cliffs and ocean. There is on-site parking and a small quick service window for food. We spent an hour or so walking around and taking it all in.Written May 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Chantae RSuva, Fiji3 contributionsThere are few places nicer than LJ shores to spend a day. Sea lions and seals so close by, scuba diving, surfing, lounging in the sand... plus a park for the kids. This beach is usually patrolled and also super clean. Great way to spend a day and cafes/restaurants are just a short walk away. TIP -- shuffle your feet when in the water to scoot away stingrays.Written January 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - T M2 contributionsClean beach! Beautiful surf. We went during the week and the beach was not very crowded. - christine lReno, United States90 contributionsThis is a small aquarium and cannot be compared to the Monterey Aquarium. If you start from that mindset it is a pleasant way to spend an afternoon looking at pretty ocean creatures and expanding your knowledge of the marine environment in and around La Jolla cove.Written May 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - wren52681Gaithersburg, MD256 contributionsArrived at children's pool beach to see the seals. It was about 5:30 when I arrived and when we got there, there were about 20 seals sleeping on the beach. They were so cute, and then some awful human being snuck up on them from the rocks and scared them and they all slid into the water. The beach is closed this time of year because it is pupping season, and they don't want the seals to be bothered. I am lucky I got there when I did because if I had arrived just 5 minutes later, they would have been gone.Written January 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mike DVancouver Island, Canada4 contributionsCouldn’t really see the caves from the top of the cliff. Needed to get at an angle to see them. It would be better from the water. The bird life was interesting as were the seals.Written May 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Clarence And GSan Diego, CA178 contributionsWe attended for the SECOND YEAR IN A ROW, the La Jolla Concours d'Elegance!!! It was wonderful from start to finish!!!
We started off again with breakfast at Harry's Coffee Shop, but this time we took a LYFT, there and back. It was much better than trying to find a valet stand close to the entrance!!!
I walked 3/4 of a mile, seeing all sorts of historic, old valuable automobiles!!! Rolls Royces, Bentleys, Ferraris, Mercedes AND MORE.
EVEN A CLASSIC BRONCO!!!
It was a cool, OVERCAST DAY. We got a brief air show, including a COAST GUARD HELICOPTER. We even saw a yacht in the ocean.
When we left, I needed the assistance of a GOLF CART to get to the top of the hill, and I asked a certain female in charge at the front. SHE TOOK MATTERS IN HAND, and walking up and down found one for me.
THIS WAS A GODSEND!!!

- spcoverScarsdale, NY48 contributionsVery pleasant way to spend 1-2 hours on a Sunday morning. Came here with our family of five (all adults). Lots of tents with arts and crafts, more tents with food stalls (and good food at that!). It is good if you come when you're hungry. LOL There is also a very big farmers market where you can get fresh and organic fruits and vegetables. My wife and I got some vegetables and tomatoes for dinner. Somehow my son came back having bought a pound of pastrami! It was very good. We ate it for lunch later. His girlfriend ate a gluten free tamale at one of the stands and enjoyed it very much. And my daughter bought a very nice souvenir candle for a friend. All in all a good trip. Would recommend.Written September 5, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Lorna1 contributionImpressive art in a beautiful seaside town. The tour made it all the more impressive because of the explanation by Lynda Forsha, a well known contemporary art expert. The beautiful colors, the thoughtful images, the SIZE!! A wonderful experience with friends or solo. The tour also gives you a chance to get to know the downtown Village of La Jolla.Written September 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
