Kym Marsh 'so emotional' as she issues lengthy family statement after heartbreak

Kym Marsh has paid tribute to her son-in-law after he ran the London Marathon in memory of her late dad. Kym, the ITV Coronation Street alum, praised her daugher Emilie's partner after he completed the course during the event which took place on Sunday.

BBC Morning Live star Kym wrote: "Well he did it!!!!! Our boy did it!! What a weekend that was! Such an emotional experience for everyone involved. Inspiring and uplifting and just generally filled us with love! So many people running for so many special reasons. Just in awe!

"And so so very proud of my son in law @mikeyhoz running in memory of my wonderful dad for @prostatecanceruk absolutely smashed it kid!! And 4hrs 31 minutes is amazing!! We are bursting with pride as a family! I’m overwhelmed by your effort, your resilience, your drive and desire to do good things for other people!

"You have a heart the size of the universe and we are so very very proud of you. It takes so much to do what you did yesterday and I know you gave everything you had. Dad would be so proud and I know, as I’m sure you do, that he was with you the whole way.

"Yesterday the love my daughter @listentoemilie has for you was shining like a beacon, the pride on her face, the worry every second, the panic when she thought you had stopped, the tears, the celebrations when she saw you, just melted my heart. There is no doubt that you are her hero.

"And now you are ours. We love you darling. Now on to the next challenge!! The Lake District ultra challenge!! 100km continuous!! Wow! Let’s smash that target!! If anyone would like to donate please follow the link in my bio.
