“I don't know where I’m going from here, but I promise it won’t be boring.” ~David Bowie

My name is Kyle MacLachlan. I’ve graduated from SAIT in the Radio, Television, Broadcast News (RTBN), and the New Media Production and Design (NMPD) programs. I am a creative-minded entrepreneur who likes movies, television shows, and video games. Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, it has always been a passion of mine to create interesting and imaginative things - from character designs to stories. My inspiration started with Steven Spielberg's 1993 Jurassic Park, where I first got a glimpse at one of the scariest movies I could imagine - Nowadays, I play Jurassic Park as background noise to other projects. As I watched more movies growing up, from the wild adventure of Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean to the medical drama that comes with Grey's Anatomy, I have grown to enjoy these stories of fantasy and fiction, and it shows in most of my work.I'm a creative type. Not only do I draw and sketch, but I also play the violin, write stories, and have participated in Dan Libman's Adult Acting Class. My strengths come from my muse in the creative arts, and my dream is to become a famous visual effect designer.

Starting in June 2021, I’ve begun my career in the film industry. I’ve become licensed as a Grip for film through the IATSE 212 Union, and started working towards my membership. As a Daily Call Grip, it is my job to become familiar with the equipment, run gear onto set for the lead hand, and visually learn and adapt to the surroundings. As of October 1, 2021, I’ve worked on 4 productions in Calgary, with varying degrees of difficulty in terms of how they approach their production. From fictional work, to based on real stories. The productions here in Calgary are vast and diverse.

In order to continuously work on my editing and entertaining skills, I operate a "Let's Play" YouTube and Twitch Stream channel called DyrezzPlays. Starting August 19th, 2018, DyrezzPlays is a small community where I play and commentate on video games. In the early episodes, you can tell just how inexperienced I was when it came to audio quality, and video quality. When I started going to SAIT for the Radio, Television, Broadcast News Program, I was able to envelop the content I learned from the classes into this channel to improve my audio, video and commentary quality.

During my second year at SAIT, I entered and won the Jason Lang Scholarship . It helped pay for my final semester which led to graduating from the New Media Production and Design program at SAIT.
