Leeds United goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson has become subject to loan interest this month, with the club mulling over whether to send him out.
Leeds’ bulk of transfer business has been concluded already this month with the signing of a left-sided defender and a striker in Max Wöber and Georginio Rutter.
Outgoings have been sanctioned too, with more potentially on the cards for Leeds as loan moves are mooted for youngsters in need of more playing time.
Young goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson has been short of playing time since he joined from Valerenga at the start of last season, making just one senior appearance to date – a brilliant cameo off the bench at Wolves last season.
With Joel Robles seemingly cementing the backup slot behind Illan Meslier, it lends itself to the Norwegian being sent out on loan to get better opportunities.
That is according to the Yorkshire Evening Post’s Graham Smyth, who has revealed the ‘keeper is subject to loan interest this month.
“It’s unlikely, at this stage, that there will be much more in the way of senior recruitment this month, although the emergence of loan interest in goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson could lead to the introduction of another young stopper, if the Norwegian heads out for gametime elsewhere.”
The potential signing of Senne Lammens from Club Brugge has been reported recently by journalist Tomas Taecke, but the timing of the agreement hasn’t been confirmed (now or the summer), meaning this loan deal could push it forward.
Lammens has followed Leeds, Marsch, and Meslier on Instagram recently, suggesting a deal might be close, and subject to Klaesson’s exit.

I thought the signing of Robles would have fast-tracked a loan move for Klaesson right away, given he would be third choice.
We have sufficient cover in the side as things stand right now, and Klaesson needs to be playing, so a loan makes sense.
Lammens’ possible arrival could spell the end of Klaesson’s time here long-term though, knowing we’ve added yet another goalkeeper to the ranks.
