Kristin Lisa Herrera (born February 21, 1989) is an American former actress. She is best known for her role as Dana Cruz on the first season of the Nickelodeon series Zoey 101 and as Lourdes Del Torro on General Hospital.

Early Life

She was born in Los Angeles, California, U.S and has two older brothers, named Ryan and Justin. She is of Mexican and Puerto Rican descent and speaks fluent Spanish. She attended Hillcrest School in Granada Hills, California.

Career

Kristin has been acting in commercials since she was six. Her first TV role was in a phone service commercial. Other roles include Eleena on NYPD Blue in 2001 and in 2002 she had appearances as Aimee Varga on The Division, Sophie on The Bernie Mac Show and Katie on 7th Heaven and in 2004 she portrayed Frederika in ER. Also in 2000, Kristin began portraying Lourdes Del Torro in General Hospital and continued the role until 2008 and made a total of 15 appearances.

In 2005, Kristin portrayed the role of Dana Cruz for all of the episodes of Season 1 of Nickelodeon's TV show Zoey 101. As Dana Cruz, she was Zoey's (Jamie Lynn Spears) friend and roommate. Her character was originally planned to end up as Logan's girlfriend, but replaced by Quinn Pensky. At the time of her departure, it was announced that she left for personal reasons.

Later in 2006 she portrayed the role of Rose Martinez for one episode of Without a Trace.

She also co-starred in feature film Freedom Writers opposite Hilary Swank in 2007 as as supporting character, Gloria. Also in the same year, Kristin portrayed Karen in the film Resurrection Mary. Her last acting role was on the soap opera General Hospital in 2008.

In 2020, she reunited with the rest of the Zoey 101 cast on the television show All That.

For the movie Zoey 102, Kristin Herrera, revealed in the comments on an Instagram post she was offered the chance to reprise her role, but turned it down to focus on raising her child. However, she admitted it would have been fun playing her again.

Personal Life

On July 15, 2016, Herrera announced via Instagram that she is engaged to long time partner, Daniel Novak. Their engagement ended shortly afterward. However, on March 3, 2020, she announced that she is engaged to Novak again.

In November 17, 2021 she announced that she is pregnant with her first child. She gave birth to her child on May 13, 2022.

Trivia

• Despite her leaving after the first season, she returned to Nick to guest star in an All That episode (along with the rest of the Zoey 101 cast minus Victoria and Alexa).
• She and Christopher Massey knew each other before Zoey 101 as both were in a poptart commercial.
• Her name, along with Alexa Nikolas, does not show up in the cast list on Netflix.
