TV director and producer Kim Manners, who served as director and co-exec producer on “The X-Files,” died Jan. 25 in Los Angeles of complications from lung cancer. He was 58.

Manners joined “The X-Files” in its second season, directing more than 50 episodes. He was part of the team that received four Emmy nominations for the long-running show.

Most recently, Manners was co-exec producer on “Super Natural,” for which he also directed episodes.

Manners started out as production manager on the “Charlie’s Angels” series and began directing episodes for the series. He went on to direct episodes of series including “Simon & Simon,” “21 Jump Street,” “Mission Impossible” and “Baywatch.”

He also directed the “When the Bough Breaks” episode of “Star Trek: The Next Generation.”

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 7 at 12 noon at Trump National Golf Course, 1 Ocean Trails Dr., Palos Verdes.

He is survived by his wife Marline; two daughters; father Sam, a producer; his mother, Joyce; brother Kelly, a producer and sister, Tana, an assistant director.
