      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

It's occasionally effective as a bare-bones action thriller, but Killerman's willingness to settle for mediocrity prevents it from reaching its tantalizing true potential.

Lauren Rawest crime flick I've seen this year. Love the way the story took it's time. Excellent ending. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/23/19 Full Review Audience Member I love opening scene in diamond district. I used to work there passing flyers and took me back to 90's.. I also like the torture scenes because I knew Skunk would escape but didn't think it would end up the way it did. Bravo for this ending. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Curtis The music in this film was amazing. I went to see with my Uncle, we both loved it and think it's a fresh version of how crime films used to be. Unapologetic is how I'd call it. It's just an honest look at crime and I think in years to come will be a classic. Moe was only not so great actor, but everyone else makes up for it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/13/19 Full Review Keith Good story and credible performance Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/09/19 Full Review Audience Member A really good throwback crime film. Wish Hemsworth played up the amnesia more but bad guys more than make up for him in acting. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review mikey mike. Cool movie. Reminded me of departed and french connection but more indie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/06/19 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Adam Graham Detroit News Bits with killer dogs, a machete and a late-inning plot revelation do little to recoup what was lost, and what could have been a tight crime thriller drags to the nearly two-hour mark. Rated: C- Aug 30, 2019 Full Review Joe Leydon Variety Writer-director Malik Bader recalls '70s crime dramas in his brutal thriller about a memory-impaired money launderer pursued by dirty cops. Aug 29, 2019 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times Thanks to Bader's clever plotting and fruity dialogue - as well as strong supporting players - this grimy picture climaxes more satisfyingly than expected. Aug 29, 2019 Full Review Terry Staunton Radio Times Hemsworth does well with the sparse tools the narrative gives him, making a genuinely charismatic anti-hero. Rated: 3/5 Jul 23, 2021 Full Review Jonah Koslofsky The Spool Killerman has a few twists up its sleeve, the type of over-the-top nonsense that's sincerely entertaining. Jan 20, 2020 Full Review M.V. Moorhead Phoenix Magazine Nothing is especially new here, but Hemsworth is sympathetic, oddly cast or not, and the villains are so odious in their smiling arrogance that I wanted to see them punished.
