The Olympic Stadium (official name is National Sports Complex Olimpiyskiy) is by far the largest stadium in Ukraine. It boasts a capacity of just over 70,000 and plays host to many (but not all) home fixtures of the Ukraine national football team and Dynamo Kiev.
The stadium opened in 1923 but was completely rebuilt for Euro 2012, hosting the final between Spain and Italy, the quarter final between England and Italy, and some of the Group D games.
The Olympic Stadium is also a major concert venue. Artists appearing here have included Madonna, Depeche Mode, George Michael, and Shakira.
Stadium tours run every day of the week (except on match days). Visit the official website for timings, prices, and further details.
The Olympic Stadium is situated right in the city centre and is very easy to reach. It’s just ½ mile from the southern end of Khreschatyk. The closest Metro stations are Olimpiiska and Palats Sportu.
