      Critics Consensus

Kidnap strays into poorly scripted exploitation too often to take advantage of its pulpy premise -- or the still-impressive talents of its committed star.

Michael C It was a heart pounding and ride along chase with Halle Berry a frantically driven mother, trying to get her son back at all cost. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/23/24 Full Review Josh M I feel like if the movie had a larger budget, it would've been—dare I say—one of the best movies of 2017. The movie isn't bad, there's some parts to it that make you think that the main character is stupid in a sense, but if you don't mind that, I'd recommend this if you have nothing to do. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/28/23 Full Review Georgan G A grade B movie with a grade A Halle Berry being the main saving grace. The plot is very thin but it was enough to keep me interested til the end. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/02/23 Full Review Emilliano Jr S It was an ok thriller though I'm expecting some more from Halle Berry. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/16/23 Full Review StephenPaul C The greatest 01 hour: and 22 minutes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/04/23 Full Review Cluxton B Though it feels like a made-for-TV film, Halle Berry gives a dedicated performance. However, the storyline is a mixture of "The Call" and "Speed", which makes the movie unoriginal. Eventhough the film is predictable, it's not boring. There just isn't enough shocking moments to give "Kidnap" a high review. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Valerie Complex Black Girl Nerds For an entire 84 minutes, I sat in the theater wondering why she decided to participate in this. I guess if for nothing else, it was good to see the actress doing something. Rated: 1.5/5 Aug 15, 2017 Full Review Danielle White Austin Chronicle At just 81 minutes, it's a short shot of adrenaline, exhilarating yet predictable. Rated: 2/5 Aug 10, 2017 Full Review Candice Frederick Hello Beautiful [Kidnap] is wild, unbelievable, yet a ridiculously fun watch. Aug 9, 2017 Full Review Jesse Hassenger SportsAlcohol This premise is pure exploitation - or rather, it aspires to pure exploitation. Pure exploitation would be welcome in place of Kidnap, which is too vastly stupid to even exploit properly. Rated: D Feb 5, 2021 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins While the initial setup isn't bad, the film doesn't really know where to go from there. Rated: 4/10 Dec 5, 2020 Full Review Allen Almachar The MacGuffin Kidnap is the kind of flick destined for the bargain bin. Rated: C Jul 18, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews
