Pirates Provide Erasmus Injury Update Ahead Of City Clash

Orlando Pirates have confirmed striker Kermit Erasmus has resumed full training after missing the start of the 2023/24 season due to injury.

Erasmus, 33, represents their most senior striker and is widely considered as one of the most talented in South African football.

His surprise return to the club from Mamelodi Sundowns last season wasn’t the best based on his lofty ambitions, but his four goals and five assists saw him contribute to their MTN8 and Nedbank Cup triumphs.

And he’ll now be looking to return to Jose Riveiro’s line-up with the club confirming he’s approaching ‘full fitness’ and could ‘feature in the match day squad’ soon.

Overall, Erasmus has scored 25 goals and registered 19 assists for the Buccaneers in 106 games.
