FSU remains in the Top 3 for 5-star WR Joshisa Trader after multi-day visit

Can FSU beat out Miami for South Florida five-star Jojo Trader?

Florida State got one of its top class of 2024 targets on campus this weekend in the form of Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade Madonna five-star wide receiver Joshisa Trader.

Trader arrived in Tallahassee on Friday and won't depart town until Sunday. On Saturday evening, he said everything about his multi-day unofficial visit to FSU was going well.

"It was a great weekend," Trader told Noles247. "You know I had to kick it with the coaches, some of my teammates."

Mike Norvell sat down Trader before he departed the facility on Saturday.

"Great talk," he said of his talk with Norvell. We didn't really talk about football. I don't think we talked about football at all. We talked more about the person he is, the person I am -- having a better connection, the things that really matter."

The FSU staff made it clear to Trader that he is a 'big priority.' He explains why they feel that way.

"I'm not trying to be too cocky but the way my film is, the way I carry myself," Trader said of why FSU likes him so much. "[The way] I respect people and the way I just be showing love to people."

The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder says he has a 'strong relationship' with FSU wide receivers coach Ron Dugans. Although Trader -- who's recovering from an offseason injury -- didn't compete in the FSU Elite Camp -- he learned several new things from Dugans' coaching on Saturday.

"I learned a lot from the drills," he said. "I learned some things I can go back home and teach myself because some things that he was telling some receivers, I do the same thing too."

Guy Lemonier is a receivers assistant at FSU who previously coached at Monsignor Pace High School in South Florida when Trader attended the school a few years ago. The two are very close.

"Coach Guy, he's like my little brother coming here," Trader laughed. "I just joke around and mess around with him and stuff like that."

Where do the 'Noles now sit in his recruitment?

"Top three," he said.

Miami, Ohio State and Georgia are all also heavily in the mix for him.

Trader does not have any official visits planned at the moment and says they will likely not take place over the summer. He's in no rush to make a decision either. His commitment will likely occur in late fall or early winter.

The Top247 rankings slot Trader as the No. 44 overall prospect and No. 4 athlete in the country.

Both the Hurricanes and the Seminoles hold one prediction each on the 247Sports Crystal Ball for Trader.
