According to a release, A Haunting in Venice has an eerie Agatha Christie story to tell. The synopsis for this Poirot movie reads:

Set in eerie, post-World War II Venice on All Hallows’ Eve, “A Haunting in Venice” is a terrifying mystery featuring the return of the celebrated sleuth, Hercule Poirot. Now retired and living in self-imposed exile in the world’s most glamorous city, Poirot reluctantly attends a séance at a decaying, haunted palazzo. When one of the guests is murdered, the detective is thrust into a sinister world of shadows and secrets.

There’s nothing more chilling than a séance, but we bet it isn’t ghosts to blame. No, in Agatha Christie’s world, the people are much scarier. And we don’t expect Poirot to put much stock in spirits in this movie.

Kenneth Branagh's Hercule Poirot measures the height of eggs in Death on the Nile.

The announced cast is as follows, per A Haunting in Venice‘s release:

Kenneth Branagh, Kyle Allen (“Rosaline”), Camille Cottin (“Call My Agent”), Jamie Dornan (“Belfast”), Tina Fey (“30 Rock”), Jude Hill (“Belfast”), Ali Khan (“6 Underground”), Emma Laird (“Mayor of Kingstown”), Kelly Reilly (“Yellowstone”), Riccardo Scamarico (“Caravaggio’s Shadow”), and Michelle Yeoh (“Everything Everywhere All at Once”).

Production on this “unsettling supernatural-thriller inspired by Agatha Christie’s novel  Hallowe’en Party will begin next month.” Screenwriter Michael Green returns to pen his third Poirot movie, having written Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile. The movie will release in theaters on September 15, 2023. Well, we do love a murder mystery set on Halloween.
