Kelly Stafford’s Aaron Rodgers shade appears to be misplaced

Aaron Rodgers has made plenty of eye-opening comments in the past year, but this does not appear to be one of them.

Kelly Stafford threw some shade at the Packers quarterback and posted an alleged quote Monday on her Instagram Story, in which Rodgers touted his friendship with Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins and the abilities of both NFC North signal-callers.

The quote was posted by the NFC North News Twitter account, which appears to traffic in nonsense stories from the teams within that division. It was the end of the fake quote that caught Stafford’s attention as it would’ve called into question her husband Matthew’s accomplishments with the Lions.

Here is the fake quote in full:

“Kirk and I are actually good friends. He’s someone I respect a lot. We have similar beliefs and values. Each off-season his family will come out and have a meal at my place, he always invites me out to return the favor. You just don’t see players like him and I very often in the league. Take the North for example, if you put him or I on the Lions or Bears we would be the best QB that franchise has ever seen.”

Kelly shared the screenshot of the quote with her Instagram followers and wrote: “Ya you’re wrong. Maybe the Bears, maybe.”

In fairness to Kelly, this is not the most unrealistic quote in the crazy world of social media. Matthew Stafford spent 12 years with the Lions and put up some gaudy numbers despite the lack of talent that often surrounded him. Rodgers is considered one of the greatest players in the history of the sport and Cousins’ abilities has been a divisive topic.

To argue Rodgers vs. Stafford vs. Cousins is somewhat outlandish, but there have been far crazier sports debates in the media world.

The Lions traded Stafford to the Rams last offseason and he led the franchise to a Super Bowl victory.

Kelly, meanwhile, is very active on social media and has defended her husband’s abilities against fans and critics in the past. Rodgers does not appear to be among the actual haters, though.
