Keke Topp’s contract extended

Germany youth international Keke Topp is staying at FC Schalke 04! The 19-year-old's contract will now run until 30th June 2025. Topp joined the club’s academy from Werder Bremen’s youth setup two and a half years ago.

“Keke has developed really well over the last few months and has earned himself more minutes in the first team,” praised sporting director André Hechelmann. “His career path shows how players can make the step up to the first team from the Knappenschmiede if they are ready to learn.”

Head coach Karel Geraerts added: “Keke is a really interesting player, one that provides us with a fresh impetus on the pitch. Despite being just 19, he’s good on the ball and intelligent, but also has the desire to want to improve with every training session.”

“I’m pleased to be staying at S04. I want to keep learning from my experienced teammates, take my opportunities when they are given to me and take the next steps in my career,” stated Topp.

The following season, he appeared for the first time in the Bundesliga at TSG Hoffenheim in April 2023. Topp has played in seven league games in the current campaign, plus in five matches for the U23s in the fourth division, scoring one goal and setting up three.
