ALAMYOver 5,800 banks and building societies have closed in the last nine years, according to experts from Which?
This is the equivalent of 54 each month with NatWest Group making up the most of physical closures.
According to research carried out by the consumer champions, 30 parliamentary constituents face having no physical branches by the end of 2024.
As such, close to three million Britons are at risk of having insufficient access to cash services.
