Katy High School Reviews
Rating 3.87 out of 5 570 reviews
Katy high school is definitely more geared towards sports rather than the arts or any other area revolving in the school. Academics, extracurriculars, and etc are not valued as much as sports are, specifically football, but the school is still VERY good and very advanced in what they do!
I like Katy High School for the most part. Most of the teachers are nice and they teach really well. You have a lot of great resources for college and a lot of good classes such as AP, KAP, and Dual-Credit. The coaches are really good too and help you a lot. The food isn’t the best, but it isn’t the worst either. So far, it’s been really safe and we haven’t had any incidents.
The staff at this school tend to be very friendly, however the overall management of Katy isd seems to be on a downturn, the students often express distaste with the board. They have a large amount of available extra-curricular activities, there is something for everyone, however there is a lot of emphasis on sports (particularly football). I personally take harder classes, and feel I have gotten value out of my education there. Katy Highschool is a good school, but the people you surround yourself with will make an impact on you, as it is not uncommon to hear about fights within the school. Despite this, the vast majority of the student body does not have such issues. I do feel that the higher ups in the district cause a lot of drama, but the actual school is good, and is well ranked for a reason.
