Paris Hilton and husband Carter Reum have welcomed their first child.
Just two months after mom Kathy Hilton of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills infamously claimed the 41-year-old was struggling to conceive, which Paris promptly denied, Paris, who wed Carter in November 2021, confirmed the birth of her baby, via surrogate.
“You are already loved beyond words,” Paris wrote in the caption of her January 24 announcement, which featured an image of her hand and that of her first child, who PEOPLE confirms is a baby boy.
Following Paris’ announcement, Kathy told her fans and followers on her Instagram Story that she was “so proud of [her] daughter,” and she included an announcement about Paris’ upcoming memoir.
“I’m so proud and happy that my memoir is available for pre-order at the link in my bio,” Paris had written on Instagram just prior to announcing her baby news. “This book is my life story and reveals some of my most personal and private experiences that I’ve never shared before. Growing up in the spotlight, everyone thinks they know everything about me but the truth is there’s so much more to my personal journey than meets the eye. While I’m nervous to be more vulnerable and open than ever before, I’m also excited to share the winding road that finally led me to healing, happiness and marrying the love of my life. I’m so proud of how I’ve evolved and overcome incredibly dark hardships, and I hope that sharing my story will inspire others to do the same.”
Kathy then reacted to the baby news itself by resharing Paris’ Instagram announcement on her Story.
Paris’ cousins, Farrah Aldjufrie, Alexia Umansky, and Sophia Umansky, the three oldest daughters of Kyle Richards, also weighed in, as seen in a screenshot shared by Bravo Snark Side on Instagram, who suspected they didn’t know that Paris was preparing to welcome a child in advance.
“This is too much,” Farrah proclaimed, along with a series of emojis, which Sophia also shared.
“OMG,” wrote Alexia.
Even members of the RHOBH cast, including Garcelle Beauvais, Crystal Kung-Minkoff, and Dorit Kemsley, responded to Paris’ news.
“So happy for you and Carter what a lucky baby,” said Garcelle.
“Congratulations to you and Carter!!!” Crystal shared.
“Congratulations!!!” Dorit wrote. “So happy for you!!!”
And Tamra Judge of The Real Housewives of Orange County added, “Congratulations.”
“It’s always been my dream to be a mother and I’m so happy that Carter and I found each other,” Paris told PEOPLE on Tuesday. “We are so excited to start our family together and our hearts are exploding with love for our baby boy.”
