Kathy Bello has been living with cancer for over 30 years now. But she doesn’t just survive – she thrives! Hers is an incredible story of hope, perseverance, prayer, and the power of positive thinking. Two years ago, a documentary crew from Villanova University was considering making a film about Kathy’s daughter, actress Maria Bello, but were convinced by those who knew her that KATHY was the real story. After meeting Kathy, they agreed and made a 30-minute film about her cancer journey.
An avid cook, Kathy has written a cookbook called “Cooking with Passion and Love for Family and Friends.” Her Facebook page, Aunt Kath’s Kitchen, reflects her philosophy of preparing food with love and laughter for family and friends. Her love of cooking and sharing with anyone who visits her kitchen was the basis for the title of her documentary.
Kathy has been spreading her inspiring story, as well as her love of cooking, for years. She has appeared on The Tony Danza Show, The Chew, Talk Philly with Pat Ciarrocchi and Eukie Washington, at the Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia, “Taste” (food and wine show), 610 WIP Morning Show with Angelo Cataldi, and the Feast of the Seven Fishes with Dom Giordano. She was given the Entrepreneurial Award by the Montgomery County (PA) Chamber of Commerce for co-founding a production company (Two Angels Productions) and writing her cookbook. She has also spoken to several cancer support groups and shared her message of love and hope.
Now you, too, can see and hear Kathy’s story. This is a wonderful video for those who are battling cancer and especially for children of cancer patients. Join Kathy and her family as they share their story and what they have learned about living with cancer.
