Origins, education and early career[edit]

Kate Brooke (born 1st June 1968) is a British writer, director and producer in both television and theatre. She was educated at Wycombe Abbey School and Christ Church, Oxford, where she read English. After Oxford, she studied at L'École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris before setting up her own theatre group in England.

Her work for television includes The Winter King, A Discovery of Witches, Bancroft, Mr Selfridge and The Forsyte Saga.

Personal life[edit]

Brooke is married to Sir Stephen Lovegrove, formerly the UK's National Security Adviser. They have two daughters and live in London.
