Great Show But BAD SET
I have always loved this show and was so excited to finally have every episode on DVD. But my excitement ended when I opened up the DVD set and found that instead of having every season from season one through season six; I got one Box containing seasons 1 and 2 and TWO boxes containing seasons five and six; no seasons 3 or 4 at all! I was so angry. I guess my only option is to return them to Amazon and do w/out. So sad.

I can't think of a single bad thing to say about the "Kate & Allie" sitcom set of all their seasons. I'm enjoying watching these hilarious women from a timeless sitcom that anyone of any generation can watch and enjoy. All characters in the cast are fabulous together, combining to make a very realistic modern family. Each episode gets into all the various (and for the most part) timeless subject matter that single women, raising children and living in New York City, can possibly get into. There is a lesson to be learned from each episode watched. Despite all that they face in their daily lives, morality is not lost on any of them. I'm glad I was able to get the entire series set; it joins some of my other sets of TV shows from the past that are a must to have in my favorites collections.

Exactly what I wanted. All 6 seasons of one of my favorite shows and a show that you cannot find on any station or available on any streaming service. Unfortunately 7 episodes are the edited versions for syndication including the classic Goodbye Plumber arguably one of the series best and the one that I believe got Susan Saint James her Emmy but it is a minor complaint as the series has 126 episodes and all the other ones are the original broadcast length including the Pilot. It's also not exactly the best video quality but it's the best one is going to get . The show deserves a high quality remaster but that's not going to happen so I'll enjoy it and be satisfied with the series I love complete and on my shelf and grateful it's even available on dvd at all

I read the reviews below before I purchased this box set. I was on the fence about it when i noticed people saying yay and nay regarding the discs not working at all or some episodes not working and I wanted to share my experience. I have a fairly new Sony Blu Ray player and the discs have all played fine. No sound quality issues or defective discs so far, but I'm only halfway through season 2. The one thing I've noticed and correct me if I'm wrong by your account, but the episodes seem to repeat with some being copied twice. I click on the next chapter and I get the same episode again. Everything that should be on the discs are there, but just repeated here and there. Strange, but workable. I would recommend this box set to anyone who likes funny females. It's the best show about female friendship that came out of the 80s, next to the Golden Girls and Designing Women perhaps.

Just received yesterday. I really purchased this because of the artwork/cases. Each season has its own case and the artwork looks amazing. It's a much better presentation than the VEI sets released over a decade ago.

In regards to the episodes themselves, the quality has improved from the previous iterations of the set but a majority of these episodes are edited. I'm guessing they don't have the same rights to the unedited episodes that VEI had since Canadian distribution rights aren't necessarily the same.

Also season 4 has a weird formatting issue where some episodes are in full screen and the others are letter boxed. It's the only season with that issue so it's not the biggest deal but still strange.

Aside from the majority edited episodes, this set is nice and presented better than the previous one.

If you already have the VEI set then there is no reason to upgrade unless you prefer better case artwork. The handful of episodes that were edited in that set are still edited here.

I'd recommend this set since the VEI sets are out of print and being sold for outrageous prices whenever they pop up.

This show is better than I remember. I caught this in reruns back in the 80's alongside Jem and Punky Brewster. I've always loved it's almost theatrical like quality.

On the discs, a lot of people have reported that the video skips at times, or pauses. I have three DVD/Blu Ray players in my house and I found that on ONE player they skip but it's fine on the rest. I'm not sure what that means but for sure on my computer they play fine. If you can't get your discs to play right, there is an address in the boxset for where you can report defective discs.

I loved this buy and I can't stop binging on these adorable ladies.

Loved this show when it was first aired in the UK back in the early 90's. To watch it on a uk speck dvd player I had to convert it to multi regional the big downfall was it cost me in total £91 for the conversion, dvd and import charges. Exspensive but worth it I thought as I loved this show.
