MCU star Anthony Mackie shares that he's still campaigning for a sequel to Real Steel, Hugh Jackman's underrated science-fiction movie. Released in 2011, Real Steel is directed by Shawn Levy and takes place in the near future when robot boxing has become a popular sport. Jackman stars as ex-boxer Charlie Kenton, who trains a discarded robot to become a champion, while Mackie plays his friend Finn, owner of a boxing club. The film was a moderate success at the box office and there was talk of a sequel, but no follow-up film has yet come to fruition.
In a recent interview with Inverse, Mackie reveals that he's still very much interested in making Real Steel 2 with Jackman. In fact, Mackie says he still calls Levy about the sequel a couple of times a year. Check out Mackie's comment about Real Steel 2 below:
“It was supposed to be a trilogy.

A “Real Steel” series adaptation is in the early stages of development at Disney Plus, Variety has learned.
The potential series would be based on the 2011 film of the same name, which was itself based on the short story “Steel” by Richard Matheson.
The film took place in the not too distant future in which human boxers have been replaced by giant fighting robots. Hugh Jackman starred as a former boxer who, along with his estranged son, fixes up an old robot they find in a junkyard and turns it into a champion.
As the project is still in the very early stages, no writer is yet attached. That means it is not yet clear if the show would adhere to the events of the original film or take a different direction altogether with new characters.
Shawn Levy, who directed the “Real Steel” film, will executive produce the series via 21 Laps.

Last Wednesday's mid-season finale of Arrow was one of the season's stronger episodes, thanks in no small part to an epic fight scene in the final five minutes that was arguably some of the best work the show has ever done. The aforementioned scene, which you can relive by clicking Here, was of course the fight between Oliver Queen and the Demon's Head, Ra's al Ghul. The episode ended shortly thereafter and we were left with a brief teaser that showed a presumed dead Oliver on the side of a mountain with a mysterious figure approaching him. Who could that myserious person be? Well, if the following interview is anything to consider, it could be someone totally unexpected. Take a look for yourself below! Well, how about that? It looks like John Barrowman was also on the mountain with Stephen Amell, Matt Nable, Katrina Law, and Karl Yune when they were shooting episode nine.

So, a pretty short synopsis for this episode, but at least we know that the future Wildcat will be playing a major role in Laurel's life (and likely her transformation into Black Canary) throughout this season. While Arrow may not be part of DC's Cinematic Universe, nods to characters who have appeared in the past like China White is why fans love this series!

The CW's Arrow has added yet another villain from the DC comic books, bringing on Vinnie Jones to play Danny Brickwell, a.k.a. Brick. The actor is no stranger to the comic book universe, playing the nefarious Juggernaut on the big screen in 20th Century Fox's X-Men: The Last Stand.
In the comic books, Brick has thick skin that cannot be penetrated by any kind of weapon. Brick will be a vicious Starling City gang leader in Season 3 of Arrow who targets the local government. He was given the name "Brick" because he has been shot dozens of times but never put down. The actor will have a three-episode arc that spans the 10th, 11th and 12th episodes this season. Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg frequently used Brick while he was writing the Green Arrow comic books for DC in the late 2000s.

Warner Bros. went a little crazy with the movie news today, but nary a word was heard on Green Arrow's appearance on the big screen. That's fine. We'll continue to join the Emerald Archer on The CW's Arrow. The action takes a bit of a backseat to the drama in this week's episode, which makes sense considering the shocking conclusion of their season three premiere. That's not to say there isn't plenty of fighting, feuding, and flying out of buildings to be found, because if it's one thing Arrow does better than most it's balancing heroic action beats with strong character dynamics, even when the team is bidding farewell to one of their own. Hit the jump for our Arrow recap. Let's start out five years ago in Hong Kong, shall we? Long-time Arrow fans were likely pleased to see a familiar face from the show's past during tonight's flashback.
