Pros
The pay is actually decent for what you do and management tries to make things fun by bringing food trucks to the property and hosting spirit weeks, along with free tickets to baseball games ect. Some managers actually care and want to make it better, and my coworkers were the absolute best.
Cons
Katom is a company with a lot of potential that can't get out of its own way and keeps shooting itself in the foot. I will start by saying I don't think anyone in management are necessarily bad people but boy are they toxic, and it all starts at the top with the owners. I have personally listened to some of my upper managers get berated by the owner. I have seen my own managers cry after being berated by the owner. Katom wants to paint this picture like they're all one big happy family, but it is far from the truth. Behind closed doors their management style is to shame, berate, and threaten people. I've seen it happen and it starts all at the top and rolls down hill. This company has one of the highest turnover rates I've ever seen. In the seven months I was there I had seen over 20 people come and go in the department I worked. The turnover rate in sales isn't much better. Perhaps people in other departments get treated better but my guess is probably not. Also the PTO policy is absolute trash. You first have to wait 90 days to get any PTO at all, and then you get 2.5 days of vacation and only accumulate around 3 hours of PTO a month. To put that into perspective it'll take you a year and one month to have one week of PTO. And to add to this, they won't let you take any time off unless you have PTO. So you barely get any PTO and you can't take any time off unless you have it. Here's some other juicy things I got to see while I was there. I saw one coworker get fired for posting on FB looking for another job.(yes they keep tabs on your social media).Something else they like to do is let people go who put in a two weeks notice. Every person who I saw put in notice weren't allowed to finish out their two weeks and asked to leave that same day. Toxic and unprofessional as hell. I was told I was let go because of performance but this happened after I was snowed in at my house and unable to drive down my street for a week because of one of the worst storms the state has seen in years, So you can put two and two together for what the real reason was. This is just a brief glimpse of the horrors I experienced working for this company. I was a good employee and disposed of like trash like I saw many others before me. If you're desperate for a job sure apply here, but if you can avoid it run like hell.

Cons
- Can’t work from home unless absolutely necessary even though job can easily be done at home; easier to focus at home - Slow to receive benefits - Benefits are slim - PTO and Vacation time are small, accrue slowly, and are easily lost. - Low motivation to preform - Overworked, not enough people in certain departments - Few rewards for accomplishments

Pros
The company is constantly adapting and changing to be competitive to the area in terms of pay and work environment! The coworkers you will have are super friendly and willing to go out of their way to help you personally and professionally. If you have the desire to learn and grow this is a great environment for it, assuming it's communicated and followed up with. The managers in e-commerce really want to see you succeed and will go the extra mile for you if you advocate for yourself and talents/desires for career growth. There is plenty of work to do so you're never bored or without direction. Overall I see good things for this company in the future, changes have already been made in the last several months that have made considerable differences for the better.
Cons
Again this company is growing quickly, while you can share in that success long term, not everyone can hang with the patience that is required as changes are being made. The different sectors of this company don't always understand each other's jobs, responsibilities, or personal workloads. Or worse: just don't communicate with each other at all. And that can and has caused some issues in the past. Workload is at an all time high and deadlines are encouraged to be met for performance which tends to stress people out who often feel as if there isn't a benefit for working harder. This is understandable but will likely never change as it is a competitive market and field. The turn over rate can be high as a result. If you struggle with communication and advocating for yourself you won't succeed well here. You have to have a strong sense of direction and be motivated to get things done and communicate effectively with management when you're struggling.
