Stade Rennais have confirmed the extension of Julien Stéphan’s contract as manager. His new deal runs until the end of the 2025/26 season.
A renewal has been in the works for some time. Stéphan, in his second spell as Rennes manager, has orchestrated a revival this season. He has led the club from mid-table mediocrity and into contention for a European place, whilst Les Rennais have also made the Coupe de France semi-final, where they will face Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

Stéphan was initially brought in on a short-term deal until the end of the season, with a quick appointment prioritised after Bruno Genesio’s dismissal in November 2023. Following his departure from RC Strasbourg Alsace the previous season, Stéphan was available, however, he has now earned an extended stay at Roazhon Park. His new deal with Les Rennais will see him remain as manager for the next two seasons.
