Whatever happened to Julie Peters (Kaiya) from the original movie Willow?

Despite my best efforts, I cannot find a single bit of information about her. She starred in another movie in 1993 and then seemingly went off the radar all together. Does anybody know what happened to her?

It’s possible she and the actor who played Ranan just don’t want to act anymore.

The other thing is that the actress who played willows wife was 30 years older than Warwick Davis, maybe nowadays the age difference would be too noticeable? I didn’t notice the age difference when I was a kid

In the Shadow Moon novel that was the original sequel to Willow, Willow’s whole family was killed (in addition to Sorsha and Madmartigan). Based on how Disney seemed to borrow a lot of ideas from Star Wars expanded universe, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Disney did the same with the original Willow novels.

She wasn't 30 years older. She was 30. He was about 17, iirc.

She was born in 1943, he was born in 1970. She's 27 years older than he is. https://wikibious.com/julie-peters/

They could have been offered min/scale and just didn’t want to leave the day job.

Or that.

30 years gap between both? Damn... I saw the movie today and I noticed that the actress was already a bit old (her hands are a a dead giveaway) but I never expected such a big age gap.

You're right, im mostly curious. Mark Vandebrake (Ranan) appeared in a podcast video on Youtube back in 2016. There is a little info on what hes doing these days. Julie Peters on the other hand appeared to completely disappear after 93, it made me wonder what happened to her.

It's been a min since reading those books but I thought his family survived but the whole village left , and yea I agree Disney has been taking ideas from those books

It's been a long time since I read them, but that's my memory as well. That when Willow went back to visit, everyone was just packed up and gone. He'll feel very stupid if they all just moved underground and he was walking around right over their heads.

u/Apprehensive_Goal811 Are Willow's family actually killed in Shadow Moon? I read it recently and don't remember that at all - it's possible I missed it due to Claremont's incomprehensible writing. I thought Thorn says at the end of Shadow Star that he hasn't heard any word from home and that his people will stay hidden until they're ready to come out? I took that as meaning Willow's family was in hiding with the other Nelwyns...

They would probably cast life size people instead of teenys

On a side note it is odd in story they don't or haven't said what happened to her or their son.

It is, I have to admit, im only 3 episodes into the series, and not a huge fan so far. But the actor who played Ranan is very much still alive and well, im surprised they didn't try to include him in the new series, or perhaps they did and he said no.

They are waiting to tell that story.

I would of enjoy seeing Julie again. The new series isn't as good without Val and the other originals. Glad Willow is the same actor! It's still pretty woke...

Val had cancer and can’t talk without a computer, Val’s voice was used for his character in The new top gun movie but they had to clean it electronically to be understood. He can’t even do standing roles at this point, so while it sucks it makes sense why he isn’t in it. Plus with Covid I doubt he wanted to get Covid with his immune system.

I hate to burst everyone's bubble but she passed away quite a while back. My aunt works as a nurse in an intensive care unit and Julie had been admitted, she was very unwell and I'm fairly certain she passed away shortly thereafter - this was probably 10-15 years ago. Dwarfism doesn't just affect height - it causes complications with internal organs and spinal issues and Julie was experiencing difficulties of that nature.

Does anyone else think willows daughter is a dead ringer for Aquafina??

She is a very pretty lady

I used to work with her at General Accident insurance company in Brighton, UK. I remember she also took time off to play an Ewok in Star Wars (the empire strikes back) as she brought the costume into work one day. Not sure how long she stayed working for them as they then merged with Commercial Union to form CGU, and subsequently then taken over by Aviva.

Wondered if this was true, it's what I remembered my dad saying years ago as he worked there too. Well the GA office in Eastbourne, then CGU/CGNU/Aviva in Brighton and took early retirement when the Aviva merge happened I think.

For real? Can I ask - what year was this? There is just zero information about her online. I believe she would be in her 80's these days and sadly wonder if she passed away already.
