Manchester United attacker Juan Mata has no plans to retire from professional football this summer, according to a report.

Manchester United attacker Juan Mata reportedly has no plans to retire from professional football this summer despite the recent speculation surrounding his future.

The Spaniard has struggled for action at Old Trafford this term, making just five appearances in all competitions, while he has not played a single minute of Premier League football in 2021-22.

There have recently been claims that the playmaker could hang up his boots at the end of the season to become a coach at Man United.

However, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 33-year-old is not considering retiring when his contract with the Red Devils expires at the end of June.

Mata is not expected to be offered the chance to sign an extension at Old Trafford, and a number of La Liga clubs are believed to be keeping a close eye on the situation.

The former Real Madrid youngster has scored 51 goals and registered 47 assists in 278 appearances for Man United since making the move from Chelsea in January 2014.
