Actress Julie Graham is said to "devastated" after her husband was found dead in a park in London after an apparent suicide.

Joseph Bennett, a 44-year-old actor, is believed to have taken his own life after he was discovered hanging from a tree in Richmond Park, south-west London on 13 April, but news of his death has only recently emerged.

The Sunday Mirror reported that his funeral has already been held.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "A man in his mid-40s was pronounced dead at the scene. A report has been submitted to the coroner's officer."

Bennett appeared in the film Howards End and TV shows including The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles and The Bill.

Graham, 49, who has had roles in Casualty, Doc Martin, and At Home with the Braithwaites, is set to appear in ITV sitcom Benidorm in 2016 as the head of a new family.

She and Bennett met when they were performing in a play together and married in secret in 2002, and had two children together, now aged nine and 11.
