Jones College Prep High School Reviews

At Jones College Prep, my experience and perspective contains the good and the bad. Jones offers numerous different clubs, sport, honors and AP classes with the goal of helping students obtain the highest quality education they can get. I have seen this goal be achieved and students obtain success with the aid of Jones and I have experienced this, as well as the opposite. I think Jones is a good school with improvements to be made.
Teachers and the school environment, in general, can be improved. I think that the teachers' departments can get incredibly click-ish, and neglect the well being of the students. They become so far detached from the students' actual needs that they harm the students and their mental health.

Jones academics are always very strong however the environment is severely lacking in school spirit. Admin and students have tried to fix this issue however there is little participation in sports, themed days, and other traditions. Students are constantly complaining how they “hate jones kids.” Parents and students have an air of entitlement that can be unpleasant at times. The teachers and classes are enjoyable. They are educational and engaging.
Jones is a highly academic school, but sports can still be exciting. The admin who run our school have been changing a little more than to be expected throughout the school year, which is causing a few issues. Overall the best time I've had at this school was freshmen connection, which was an opportunity to connect with freshmen before the school year to potentially meet future classmates. The worst part of school is how long it takes admin to react to issues in the community,, and oftentimes the only action they take comes from being called out afternoon periods of time.
