Here’s the official “Thelma” synopsis:

Inspired by a real-life experience of Margolin’s own grandmother, this action-comedy gives Oscar nominee June Squibb the first leading film role of her 70-year career portraying Thelma, a feisty 93-year-old grandmother who gets conned by a phone scammer that impersonates her beloved grandson, played by Fred Hechinger. When she finds out she’s been scammed; she sets out on a treacherous quest across Los Angeles on a motorized scooter to reclaim what was taken from her.

Squibb also did most of her own stunts in the film, which should be a selling point for action junkies that have a warm spot for actors of any age performing stunts.
