John Leguizamo just dished on one of his first acting gigs, that just happened to be alongside a high-profile pop star.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos welcomed The Green Veil star on Live with Kelly and Mark this morning to promote his new series, during which Leguizamo spilled about working on a Madonna music video.

Ripa, a self-proclaimed Madonna fan, chimed in, “‘Borderline.’ The video.”

Leguizamo teased to the two co-hosts that he had “heard that [Madonna] loved Latin guys and she would drive around LES in her limo picking up Latin guys.”

“So I go, I’m gonna make it easy for her. I’m going to show up on her set,” he quipped. “Well, nothing happened. I got a sandwich and a pat on the back.”

Viewers were then shown a still from the 1984 music video, which featured a young Leguizamo in a red track suit.

Ripa asked, “Is that you?,” to which Leguizamo confirmed he was the one in “the red.”

Stunned, Ripa exclaimed, “What?!” Meanwhile, Consuelos added, “I knew that was you!”

Leguizamo noted, “I was young. I thought, ‘Oh, this is my chance.'”

After Ripa asked him how old he was while shooting the video, Leguizamo said that he was 14. It seems that the actor would have been 23 when the video was filmed and released, as People reports that he was 63 as of February this year.

“I’m a short guy,” he said. “I’ve always been a short king.”

This proved to be a bit of a bonding moment with Consuelos, who told him, “Me too!”

Leguzamo replied, “Oh, you’re a short king? No, you’re taller than me.”

On that note, both Leguizamo and Consuelos got out of their chairs to see who was taller. The two hilariously extended their necks while doing so in an attempt to come out on top, which ended in them both cracking up.
