John F. Kennedy High School Reviews
Rating 3.88 out of 5 145 reviews
Overall, my experience at John F. Kennedy High School was rigorous yet doable. I felt extremely prepared in nearly all my subjects come the end of the year, and the teachers helped give access to loads of resources to make this possible. Although, I think the school culture could definitely use some improvement, as the school is overall pretty small. I think we could use a bit more of school pride. But, in terms of academics, arts, music, and clubs, I'd say the school is abundant in those areas, and has a profound commitment to upholding them.
A lot of academic options; poor overall culture. School activities and student organizations cater to the smaller group of very wealthy families, when most of the student body comes from middle class backgrounds that cannot always afford participation in expensive outings and such.
John F. Kennedy High School has so much to offer. Every teacher I had was amazing and made connections with their students, not just for one year, but throughout all four years. Furthermore, throughout each year we had the best events going on in school open to all students. These include class night, jam the gym, the homecoming dance, homecoming, pep rally, and so much more. Personally, the best part of High School for me was being a part of the Student Government. This gave me the opportunity to help plan events, do community service, design apparel, etc. I built up my college resume so much just by being in this club. Moreover, throughout my four years at Kennedy I was able to make friendships that will last a lifetime. The Bellmore kids were able to meet and get to know the Merrick kids, and vice versa, expanding my friend group. Graduating was one of the hardest things i’ve ever had to do, but I know i’ll be back.
