Celebrity activist John Cusack said President Trump is God’s sign to the nation to repent or face the coming of “Anti-Christ.”
The “Hot Tub Time Machine” star took to Twitter this week to mix politics and apocalyptic predictions in an urgent message to fans.
“Trump is basically a test run for true evil: the anti-christ for dummies,” he tweeted Wednesday. “The gods [are] saying We’re going to give you a version so obvious with such Unimaginable Stupididty [sic] & abject cretinism & sloth — to show how decadent & empty yr culture & institutions have become — change.”
He also wrote “Trump himself must hurt — any god of love” earlier in the month in response to an interview in which Mr. Trump declined to offer reporters a list of favorite Bible quotes.
Mr. Cusack isn’t alone when it comes to infusing his political activism with religious warnings. Fellow liberal activist Rosie O’Donnell, for example, warned of hellfire when then-Rep. Paul Ryan supported the president’s tax cuts in 2017.
“Paul Ryan — don’t talk about Jesus after what u just did to our nation,” she tweeted on Christmas Eve. “U will go straight to hell. U screwed up fake altar boy. #JUDASmuch.”
