Well, done to all our Under 5s and parents for our early start in the MTU this week. We had another energetic session with practice of all our movement & ball skills. Very well done to Rian & Bria who tried very hard & showed the practice at home is paying off!

We’re looking forward to getting back to St Pats Astroturf next week for our Academy at 10.30am.

U7

Great numbers today for an early morning start in MTU. The skills are really improving with all the lads where we focused on handpassing today. Well, done to Colin who was our player of the week.

U8 Girls

We had a great session we worked on our hook kicking and the girls have obviously been practicing very hard as we finished off with a very competitive game where some of the points and goals wouldn’t have been out of place in Croke park.

U9 Boys

Our U9’s had a great week this week with a trip back To Castlegregory for another round of Go Games on Tuesday evening. We had 3 teams playing and they all had 4 great games. Then on Sunday morning they were back to Academy training where they had another fun session. Their skills are improving every week, and we ask them to practice their skills at home every day during the week.

U10 Girls

Another great turnout for an early morning session this morning, great to see all the girls showing great enthusiasm, skill and having fun. Today we focused on a new skill, the hook shot/pass and the girls did very well for their first time trying and their shooting skills were off the charts.

This week’s player of the week was Cara, who showed great skill and enthusiasm as she does every week. Well, done Cara. Just a quick reminder that we will be back training on the pitch in Blennerville next week and I will forward on details during the week. See you all next week girls! Regards Coaches

U11 Boys

St Pats U-11’s had a match at home last Thursday evening against Kerins O’Rahillys in Round 3 of the Lee Strand Co League Go Games. We had a great turnout and were again able field two teams.

We had two very enjoyable games with some great skills on show especially our kick passing, tackling and goal scoring. Well, done to all our players involved on the night. Our next game is this Thursday 2/5 at home to Castlegregory we will be in contact with parents with details of same. It’s important ye all continue to attend our training sessions and keep practicing your skills at home during the week. Naomh Pádraig Abú!!

U12 Girls

Well, done to our U12 girls who played very well in an exciting game in Blennerville this evening against Churchill’s Black team. The girls showed further improvement from last week’s game and finished very strong in the final quarter for the second week in a row. Special mention to U10 player Emily who played her first game for the u12’s and was fantastic.

Thanks to Churchill GAA for a sporting game, to the parents for coming to cheer on the girls and to referee Dell White for officiating.

We play Austin Stacks in the final group game of the North Kerry U12 Go Games group stage in two weeks’ time. The girls also had a productive training session up at the MTU last Sunday. The theme of the session was kicking where we worked on the skill itself in small groups and then in a game setting which the girls really enjoyed. Keep up the practice at home girls!

U13

We had our final game in phase one of the County league last Sunday evening in Blennerville. It was a late kick off on a cold evening and our boys got off to a slow start. We were up against a big, fast Scartaglin side.

Unfortunately, we were very subdued, and could not get up to the pace of the game, allowing Scartaglin to build a lot of scores in the first half. We regrouped at half time and challenged the boys to do better.

To their credit they responded well and competed much better in the second half, won a lot more contests and got some good scores. We won the second half, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap and Scartaglin had a well-deserved win. Thanks to Scartaglin for playing the game in a sporting manner. We are back training at 6pm Monday night.

U17

Our U17 came away with a win against Ardfert last Monday night. Their next game takes place away on Monday Night at 5pm against An Gaeltacht in An Gaeltacht.

Senior

St Pats winning streak comes to an end. There was great teamwork coming from Gary Savage who plucked the ball from a strong Duagh defence to pass it to Conor Enright who with quick thinking hand passed over the Duagh opposition into the hands of Darragh Moriarty and finished the ball into the back of the goals.

Duagh added two quick points, St Pats never gave up despite strong opposition. Scores coming from Jack Moriarty and David Moriarty each getting into their rhythm to add to the scoring. Duagh put a goal and two more points on the board.

Brian Murphy had a clash with a Duagh player which caused him to come off injured within the last fifteen minutes of the game. There was a final goal and two points scored by Duagh, St Pats narrowed the gap down to two points between the teams. St Pats 1-04 Duagh 2-06

Duagh began the second half with determination that appeared too strong for St Pats, Scores from Eoin Greaney and Fergal O’Brien doing their best to keep the space small. There was support available from Gary Savage, Thomas O’Sullivan, and Thomas Nicholson.

Duagh proved too strong and took the lead in the final few minutes of the game. Full Time St Pats 1-08 Duagh 2-18

St Pats Team:  Paudi Bailey, Ben Sharp, Luke Mulligan, Dylan Griffin, Tommy Nicholson, Thomas O’Sullivan, Darragh Moriarty, Conor Moore ©, Eoin Greaney, Jack Moriarty, Brian Murphy, Tommy Lynch, Gary Savage, Fergal O’Brien, and David Moriarty.
