Elton mayor to face recall vote on April 27
SUMMARY: Early voting has begun in Elton, with residents casting their votes in a recall election for Mayor Kesha La Moy. The recall petition was organized last year after voting irregularities were uncovered in the previous election. Former Governor John Bell Edwards signed a proclamation calling for the recall election, allowing the people of Elton to voice their opinions. The co-chairman of the recall petition, Marilyn Granger, and others, including Brandon Kelly, emphasize the importance of maintaining the integrity of local elections. Despite Mayor La Moy's efforts to stop the recall, voters are encouraged to participate in early voting or on April 27th to make their voices heard.
Early voting has started for the April 27 election, and on the ballot for Elton residents is the recall election for Mayor Kesia Lemoine.
We took a trip to Elton today and caught up with those who organized the recall petitions last year.
The recall effort started after a KPLC investigation revealed possible voting irregularities in the election of Mayor Lemoine.

Experts warn identity thieves target children due to clean financial history
SUMMARY: Identity theft is a serious issue that can happen to anyone, including children. Hackers are targeting children's social security numbers to open credit cards, loans, and file taxes without detection for years. Checking your child's credit report annually is crucial to catch and clean up any fraud. Financial coach Jerry Dale recommends contacting Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian if fraud is detected, as well as the financial institution if a credit card was opened in your child's name. Being proactive in monitoring your child's credit can prevent long-term damage from identity theft.
Javelin Stretegy reported that one in 50 kids in the U.S. has been impacted by identity theft.
Since this common form of crime can have major effects on children once they turn 18, Money recommends parents check their child credit report regularly and even consider freezing their credit.
