Joey Mercury Called Out Following Controversial Tweet

Joey Mercury

Former WWE Tag Team Champion Joey Mercury has been taken to task on social media for apparently body shaming a former colleague and fellow pro wrestler.

Joey Mercury has been very vocal on social media about his former employers at Ring Of Honor and several of the stars that he used to share a locker room with in that company.

His latest outburst took aim at referee Todd Sinclair and ROH wrestler World Famous CB who is better known by his previous moniker of Cheeseburger. CB responded to the Tweet and accused Mercury of attempting to body shame both him and Phillips with his barbed comments:

“I should ignore this but after multiple failed attempts to sabotage my career in ROH Joey Mercury continues to find time to post body shaming tweets about me and my friends.

His time would be better spent finding another job to get fired from. Also he blocked me 😅 “

Joey Mercury was a part of WWE for two spells with the first beginning in 2004 where he joined up with Johnny Nitro and Melina to form the popular MNM trio. Together he and Nitro captured the WWE Tag Team Championship on three separate occasions.

Mercury returned to the company after a three-year absence in 2010 where he became a part of CM Punk’s Straight Edge Society. He then began working in a backstage role with WWE before he came back on-screen as part of J&J Security alongside Jamie Noble in The Authority. Together the two men were tasked with looking after Seth Rollins before the group fell to pieces in late 2015.

He began his association with Ring Of Honor in 2018, working as a trainer for the company before becoming a producer in early 2019. Mercury’s time in the company came to an acrimonious end in October of the same year.
