Joe Thomas was recently picked as a member of the 2023 Pro Football Hall of Fame Class at the NFL Honors. Thomas was joined by his family to join the class of 2023 in the hall. One specific NFL great congratulated Thomas on his honor.

Thomas said many people reached out to him, one specifically being Peyton Manning. Manning and Thomas had a nice conversation following the announcement.

"I haven't talked to Peyton Manning in a few years, probably since I retired or shortly after," said Thomas. "He sent a congratulations message and we kind of went back and forth a little while, which was kind of cool."

Following the announcement at the NFL Honors, Thomas is still trying to get back to everyone that congratulated him on making the hall.

"I usually try to get back to everyone, but the first night I had over 300 messages responding," Thomas said on the outpouring support.

Thomas admitted that the weekend was overwhelming and emotional. The Cleveland great said a ton of ex-teammates reached out.

"I think that's one of the cool parts of being inducted into the half of fame, you start hearing from a lot of guys that you haven't heard from in a while."

Thomas recently got together with Colt McCoy while he was in Phoenix. The two have stayed connected since once being teammates.

One of the game's greatest left tackles to ever play said he and ex-Browns teammates always try to remember the positive moments, not the ton of losing they did.

Being named as a soon-to-be hall of fame recipient landed Thomas a conversation with a Manning brother, and brought him together with an old teammate again. He will take that.
