Joe Gonzalez Maintained a Good Relationship with Sofía Vergara after Becoming Her Ex-husband

Although Joe Gonzalez is commonly known as Sofía Vergara's ex-husband, he is also a business owner and proud family man. In addition to his son with the "Modern Family" star, the actress's ex-husband remarried and welcomed two more sons. However, his current relationship status remains unknown.

Despite his ex-wife's fame, Joe Gonzalez has lived a low-key life and shares glimpses of it on social media. A few years ago, the actress claimed she raised her and her ex-husband's son alone; however, the exes have since appeared to be on good terms.

While certain parts of his personal life in recent times remain unclear, Joe Gonzalez has not shied away from documenting his bond with his sons and once showed that he was remarried.

When Sofía was 17, she was scouted on a Columbian beach and picked to star in a Pepsi commercial. A year later, she and Joe, known as José González, tied the knot. The actress said he was the only one she had eyes for and called him her "high school sweetheart."

By the time his ex-wife was 20, they had welcomed their son, Manolo. His ex-wife aspired to become a doctor and had her eyes on going to medical school. However, the actress revealed:

"...but my husband and everyone said, 'you're a woman trying to have a family. You can't be a doctor on call.'"

Following Joe's words, his ex-wife opted to study dentistry in Bogotá instead while he furthered his education at the New York Institute of Technology as a diesel engine technician.

On Instagram, he describes himself as a "Master mechanic, classic car enthusiast, burger lover, master DJ record holder, and vinyl aficionado," among other skills and hobbies.

Shortly after their son was born, Joe and his ex-wife parted ways. However, during an interview in 2016, the actress revealed that she had raised their son alone. "I was really young when I divorced his father, so I raised him trying to set the best example and give him the best that I could," Sofía said.

Despite her claims, Joe has proved that he and Sofía were on good terms after he shared a picture of her wearing a cap supporting his business. In 2012, he turned to Instagram to promote his burger shop, Joe's Burger Shack.

A few years later, he grew his business and introduced Joe's 100 Burgers, which his eldest son also promoted on social media. He also created a Facebook page for his company, which has been inactive since May 2017.

Following his divorce from Sofía Vergara, Joe remarried. In 2014, he took to Instagram to share a picture of his wife, Annie Garcia, with a Spanish caption translated to "My beautiful wife!!!" However, he has not shared a photo of her in a while, leaving their relationship status unclear.

At the time of writing, his wife's Instagram account was private. The couple welcomed two sons, Nikko and Jack, who are regulars on his page alongside their older brother, Manolo.

In 2020, he celebrated his second son's graduation from middle school and often shares adorable father-son content. Joe's oldest son followed in his mother's footsteps and pursued a career in acting while also trying his hands at producing and directing.

Manolo has had roles in "Hot Pursuit" alongside his mother, Reese Whitherspoon, Matthew Del Negro, Michael Mosley, and others. He has also acted alongside Denise Richards and Madeline Carroll in "Destined to Ride," and he has a handful of movie credits.
