Show Intro

"Greetings one and all, and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott show right here on the magnificent Planet Rock."

"We have got 60 minutes, one hour to deliver you some wonderful music."

".I've got a great mixture of stuff tonight, and hopefully between now and the end of the show, nobody drops dead."

"Not the obituary show tonight, just a full-on 60-minute rock show, starting off with Motor Sister."

Motor Sister

"From the very talented mind of the very talented Jim Wilson, that is a band called Motor Sister which also features on guitar, Scott Ian of Anthrax."

"The album is Ride, the song that we heard, A-Hole. Clever title."

Queen

"Right, let's keep that power and speed going, shall we? This is Queen."

"And before that we heard Queen from the deluxe edition of News Of The World. It is a song named after a previous album, Sheer Heart Attack."

Rush

"They made an incredible progression into their own sound, eventually, didn't they?."

"But they're the very Zeppelin-esque sounding Beneath, Between And Behind from Rush. The album is Fly By Night, great album by the way."

AC/DC

"Now hands up if you can guess who this is. Be quiet at the back."

"And before that, a long time before they went on the Highway tour, yes, that ballad-esque song that we just heard was actually AC/DC."

"It's from a collection that recently got released called Backtracks, which is a load of kind of leftover B-sides, tracks that never really got used."

"But it is essentially a direction they may well have gone in, but they chose not to. The song that we heard, Love Song."

Bruce Dickinson

"Congratulations to Bruce for charting so high all over the world with this first solo album in god knows how many years."

"It is Bruce Dickinson, of course, lead singer, usually, with Iron Maiden. The album is called The Mandrake Project, the song that we just heard, Many Doors To Hell."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott Show on the wonderful Planet Rock, coming up, some Shouting And Pointing with Mott."

Mott

"And before that we heard Mott from 1976, the spin-off of Mott The Hoople, who would a year later become the British Lions."

"But this was their Swan Song album, if you like, a wonderful bit of work called Shouting And Pointing, the song that we heard, career, brackets, No Such Thing As Rock And Roll, close brackets."

Mick Jagger

"Seeing the show, I highly recommend that you do, because to hear that song once a week is wonderful."

"But if you binge watch like I do and hear it once an hour, it's even better."

"That is the theme music to the show Slow Horses. It is Mick Jagger. The song is called Strange Games."

Deep Purple

"However, here's Deep Purple to make a complete nonsense of that title."

"And before that, from what is very possibly my favourite ever Deep Purple album, it is Fireball from 1971, the song we heard, The Mule."

The Babys

"Our elements of that song that don't half sound like bad company's run with the pack, and it's quite possibly just because of the strings, and they were both produced by the same guy, which is Ron Nevison."

"But that, from an album called Broken Heart, is The Babys, with A Piece Of The Action."

Show Outro

"And on that note, that about brings this show to an end, being a real pleasure as always."

"I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time. So don't touch that dial, as I like to say, and I will see you next week."

"Till then, I'm going to leave you with this, and I'm going to dedicate this to the wonderful hard work that Mr Roger Daltrey has put in for the Teenage Cancer Trust for the last couple of decades."

"He's finally retiring at the age of 80. He's passing it on to somebody younger, and with probably a little bit more energy to do it these days. But what a wonderful job he has done."

"It was an absolute pleasure for Def Leppard to be invited to perform for Roger at the Albert Hall about five, six years ago, and what more can I say about one of the greatest singers in rock and roll than, well done Roger, enjoy your semi-retirement, because I do believe The Who are going to go out for one last run, and guess who's going to go and see them again? Me."

"So, until that happens, let's just enjoy them on record. From 1971's Who's Next, this is The Who and Bargain."

"Until next week, see ya!."
