Of Jim Parsons' six Emmy nominations and four wins, which one do you think was the most deserving, and which one do you think was the least deserving?

Episode discussion

So as I'm sure this sub knows, Jim Parsons won four Emmys out of six Emmy nominations for his work on the show. I'm curious as to this subs thoughts on which episode(s) is their favorite and which episode they think that he deserved the Emmy win/nomination. And vice versa. Which episode was their least favorite and if he deserved the win/nomination for that episode.

The episodes in question:

  • 2009 - Season 2, Episode 11: "The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis" - (Nominated but lost to Alec Baldwin for 30 Rock)

  • 2010 - Season 3, Episode 18: "The Pants Alternative" (WON)

  • 2011 - Season 4, Episode 21: "The Agreement Dissection" (WON)

  • 2012 - Season 5, Episode 18: "The Werewolf Transformation" (Nominated but lost to Jon Cryer for Two and a Half Men)

  • 2013 - Season 6, Episode 7: "The Habitation Configuration" (WON)

  • 2014 - Season 7, Episode 20: "The Relationship Diremption" (WON)

Why do you have a picture of Jeremy Allen White attached to your Jim Parsons post?

That I don’t know why it came up. He’s the most recent winner of the award so I guess when I put the link in, the picture got added. It was very much unintentional

That's okay, no complaints here

The Emmy nominations start with a selection of the actors and then they can put up whatever episode they choose for the final voting. Some actors ask for help from others and some pick on their own. Jim picked on his own. (Mayim had others help her choose and Jim was one of the people she asked for his opinion.)

So, maybe the question is, was there another episode in those seasons where he should have picked a different episode? What I notice is that the episodes chosen have Sheldon losing control in 5 of the 6. Only "The Agreement Dissection" is one where Sheldon is his normal self. In "Bath Item", he loses it when Penny gives him the napkin and in "Werewolf" he surrenders to the chaos of not getting his haircut. In the other 3, there is alcohol involved in Sheldon's loss of control.

As for the episodes listed, there are people on here who say they refuse to watch episodes with Priya, so that would take out "The Agreement Dissection" as a favorite. Others absolutely hate the way that Amy acted in "The Habitation Configuration" so that would be out as a favorite for them.

He should’ve won for the bath item gift hypothesis in my opinion. Although I don’t think the relationship diremption was anything special
