EPL: Jermain Defoe names club to finish higher in league table between Arsenal, Man United

Former England striker, Jermain Defoe has predicted that Manchester United will finish above Arsenal at the end of the ongoing Premier League season.

According to the former Tottenham star, new manager, Erik ten Hag has positively impacted the Red Devils squad team so far, and this could translate to a good position in the league.

Before the suspension of Premier League fixtures after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Manchester United beat Arsenal 3-1 to end their 100% run in the league.

Mikel Arteta’s side were on a five-match winning streak when they clashed against Erik ten Hag’s men at Old Trafford on September 4.

Defoe believes Manchester United will “for sure” finish the season above Arsenal.

Speaking to Premier League productions, he said, “I am going to say yes, aren’t I. But, in terms of their [win over Arsenal], how they are playing and how they look like they are going to play now, then I will say yes, for sure, Manchester United will finish above Arsenal.”

Arsenal are currently holding the top spot of the Premier League table with 15 points in six matches, while Erik ten Hag’s side are in fifth position after as many games.
