Jeremy Maguire has been a star on “Modern Family” and we expect grand things from him in the future as the show winds down. We got a chance to talk with him about this time on the show, what he has coming up and some of what he likes to do outside of acting. We also get a chance to ask Jeremy what he has coming up in the future so take a read below.
Jeremy Maguire currently stars as ‘Joe Pritchett’ on the Award-winning ABC comedy “Modern Family”. Season 10 is set to premiere September 26th. Jeremy can also be seen in his role as ‘Trevor’ in the drama filled film “I’m Not Here”, opposite J.K. Simmons and Sebastian Stan.
BSCKids: How did you get the part on the show?
Jeremy Maguire: I went for the audition when I was 3 years old. I think there was 4 auditions including a screen test with Ed. It happened really fast. My last audition was on a Thursday and I started work on Monday. They even let me wear my cape during the audition. It’s funny because there even an episode where I get to wear a cape.
BSCKids: Who do you think you learned the most from on the show?
Jeremy Maguire: I get learn the most from Ed. He helps me practice my lines and he is so good. Rico and Sofia are great too. Rico was a kid when the show started so he has great tips. Sofia helps me to have fun between takes.
BSCKids: Do you have a favorite scene you have been in on the show?
Jeremy Maguire: Last season we filmed in Lake Tahoe. I think that was my favorite episode to shoot so far. Being in a new place was so much fun! I hope we get to do another Modern Family vacation soon.
BSCKids: Can you tell us a bit about your favorite outfit you have worn?
Jeremy Maguire: Green is my favorite color. There was a green zip-up hoodie that I wore a lot. It is really soft and comfy. I wore it in some episodes but I always wore it between takes. At the end of the season, they let me keep.
BSCKids: Do you get recognized by fans often? What has been your favorite experience with a fan?
Jeremy Maguire: I do get recognized by grown-ups pretty often. However, I think my biggest fans are my cousins. We are very close and hang out all of the time.
BSCKids: How was your time on the film “I’m Not Here” as Trevor?
Jeremy Maguire: I really like working with Sebastian Stan. He made it easy to pretend he was my dad. He is very fun and easy to talk to! I hope we can work together again in the future. The director, Michelle, was very nice. She let me look through the camera and learn about making a movie.
BSCKids: If you could guest star on any show, which one would it be and why?
Jeremy Maguire: “Raven’s Home.” It’s one of my favorite shows. I think it would be fun to be on a show with a lot more kids.
BSCKids: What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?
Jeremy Maguire: I like drawing and pretend play with my cousins and my sister. I just learned all of the states and capitals, now I’m learning countries and capitals. Also, I like to sing and dance.
BSCKids: Favorite series, Harry Potter or Star Wars and why? If you had to live in the Harry Potter or Star Wars Universe which one would it be and what would you be doing?
Jeremy Maguire: I really do like Star Wars. I think the next Star Wars is going to have more kids in it. That would be cool. Right now, I like Harry Potter because he is a kid just like me. I would really like to attend Hogwarts and I would be in Gryffindor house.
BSCKids: What has been your favorite red carpet event you have attended as an actor?
Jeremy Maguire: My favorite red carpet was going to the Emmy’s. That was a big deal! My mom let me pick out my favorite cape. Then a limo came and picked me up at my house. The after party was fun too. I was got to open up the dance floor with Julianne Hough.
BSCKids: Is there anything you have coming up besides the 10th Season of Modern Family you can tell us about.
Jeremy Maguire: I was just on The Last Ship (TNT Network). That was on this week. Also, I’m starting a Youtube channel for kids. It’s called Adventuring with Jeremy. We are going to play with toys, we are going to make crafts, and we are going to visit cool places and meet cool people.
