Jennifer Hudson refuses to pay for ex David Otunga’s home

Jennifer Hudson wants to put a stop to her ex David Otunga‘s efforts to have the singer pay for his home amid claims he is their son’s primary caregiver.

“Nothing entitles David to live in a home identical to Jennifer’s,” Hudson, 37, said in court documents obtained by The Blast, adding that “having a child with a celebrity should not be the basis to treat David like someone who has given birth to a child and who has no means of supporting the child.”

Hudson also argued that she and Otunga, 39, were never married, so she “denies that the child support should extend to housing subsidies for David.”

The “Dreamgirls” star said her ex, who is a former WWE wrestler, is now pursuing “a career path identical to Jennifer’s, evidenced by his promoting himself for his role in ‘Madea’s Family Funeral.'” Hudson previously requested that a judge order Otunga to “seek employment” and “maintain a job diary.”

She adds in recent documents that if a judge were to accept Otunga’s claims that he is the primary caregiver because he is “present” and therefore the “better parent” would “do a disservice to working parents in general and to Jennifer in particular.”

Hudson and Otunga’s custody battle over their 9-year-old son, David Daniel Otunga Jr., was supposed to go to trial in March. However, according to The Blast, a hearing has been scheduled for May.

Otunga proposed to Hudson in 2008 after dating for less than a year. They welcomed their son in 2009 and split in November 2017.
