Hermoso reflected on La Roja's monumental achievement
Jennifer Hermoso has earned this moment.
She was one of only three players in Spain's FIFA Women's World Cup™-winning squad, along with Irene Paredes and Alexia Putellas, to have made an appearance in their previous two world finals participations (2015 and 2019).
Third time really was the charm for Hermoso as she had a superb tournament Down Under, which was reflected in her taking home the adidas Silver Ball Award as one of the tournament's most outstanding players.
"There are no words, this one, right now it feels like a void," Hermoso told FIFA shortly after the final. "I think we are not aware of what we have achieved today. It is very difficult to be world champions. It takes a long time to achieve something like that.
"Today with this group of players that we have, it is impressive what we have done, and I just hope that everyone is just as proud in Spain as we are."
