I just found this new at a small record shop nearby and was very happy. As a guitar player I have an affinity for a specific group of players that I admire regardless of the genre they play in. I am normally an underground Metal guy. Death, Thrash, Black, Doom, etc… but there are some guitar players that I will always love no matter the style. For me this is the Jeff Beck album that was not only released the same year as my birth, but the album that I first heard discovering works by the great Jeff Beck and was absolutely blown away! The sounds he gets here out of just a Strat, a slide and his fingers is unbelievable. If ever I’m in a bad mood I just have to pop this album in and I can’t help but smile at his outstanding guitar work. This pressing sounds super and the blue album looks cool against the album art. Very nice pressing!

More of a Soundstage for Beck and Bozzio but that may be because Hymas' contribution blends in between the punch of the guitar and drums. Definately a late 80's / early 90's shred fest. Not sure if Bozzios' drums are really overengineered or if he was using an electronic kit, wouldn't rule either out. Reminded me of the music from the The Fifth Element but that may be because Hymas was forced to fill the bass role at times which gave it a futuristic sound. Those who know what to expect with Beck's music won't be surprised but the uninitiated may be surprised on first listen. If technical musicianship and 80-90's vibe are your thing then you'll probably dig this.

Great sounding pressing! Drums especially feel full, open, with depth. Terry Bozzio's set feels alive and natural. Smooth, flat, and quiet pressing, though I have a problem of not wanting to play this album quietly...

This guy plays like no other. This is my go to album whenever auditioning new turntable components - just put guitar shop on and listen to this guy rock
