Jedd Fisch

  • Title
    Head Football Coach
Jedd Fisch, who spent the previous three seasons restoring the football program at the University of Arizona and bringing it to its highest heights in decades, accepted the position of head football coach at the University of Washington on Jan. 14, 2024.

Fisch, 47, comes to Seattle with a long and varied history of coaching in college and in the NFL, including time in both Seattle and elsewhere in the Pac-12 prior to taking going to Arizona.

Three years removed from a winless 2020 season, Fisch's Wildcats went 10-3 in 2023, beating Oklahoma in the Alamo Bowl and finishing with the No. 11 position in the final AP Top 25 poll. The 'Cats outscored opponents, on average, 36.1 to 21.1 over the season, relying on a balanced offense that averaged 448 yards a game.

Wildcats quarterback Noah Fifita was Pac-12 Offensive Freshman of the Year, while 12 Arizona players earned some level of All-Pac-12 honors. The stingy Arizona defense notched 34 sacks and led the conference in the red zone.

Fisch's résumé is long and varied. He has coached for the Texans, Ravens, Broncos, Seahawks, Jaguars, Rams and Patriots at the pro football level, and for his alma mater, Florida, as well as Michigan, Miami, Minnesota and UCLA, in college, before going to Tucson.

Prior to the 2021 season, Fisch took over as head coach at Arizona, a program that had gone winless in 2020. After a 1-11 debut season, Fisch and his staff turned the team's fortunes around, resulting in a 5-7 campaign in 2022.

In 2023, Fisch's Wildcats reached new heights, going 10-3, and beating Oklahoma in the 2023 Alamo Bowl. The 'Cats finished the 2023 season ranked No. 11 in the final AP Top 25, the program's highest finish since 1998. He was a finalist for both the Eddie Robinson and Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Awards in 2023.

Fisch grew up in Livingston, N.J., where he was a standout tennis player. He attended the University of Florida in hopes of getting into college football coaching, despite not having played at the high school or college levels.

Fisch and his wife, Amber, are parents to three daughters: Zaylee, Ashlee and Kendall. He graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in criminology in 1998, and also earned his master's degree, in sports management in Gainesville, in 2000.
