It’s just been a couple of months since Cheick Doucouré switched Lens for Crystal Palace, with the Premier League side spending €22.6m to land him.

And it turns out that the midfielder seem to have already missed his teammates, because as reported in France, the 22-year-old has now paid a visit to his former club.

Outlet Lensois today reports Doucouré’s presence at a training session at Lens.

His ‘surprise visit’ was shared by goalkeeper Jean-Louis Leca, who was ‘visibly happy’ to see him again.

The report praises the midfielder’s adaptation to Crystal Palace, claiming he ‘quickly established himself’ at the club with a ‘string of tenures’ and ‘good individual performances’.

Doucouré was allowed to return to France early because of the postponement of certain Premier League fixtures due to the Queen’s funeral.

Crystal Palace were supposed to play Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend.

Now, with a couple of weeks off due to the international break, Patrick Vieira’s side are only getting back to action on the 1st of October, when they host Chelsea at the Selhurst Park.
