PRINCETNON – Jean Marie Kelly, 88, of Princeton, IL, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021, at Perry Memorial Hospital surrounded by loved ones.
Jean was born in Omaha, NE, on December 13, 1932, to the late Daniel and Virginia "Ruthe" (Stuben) McMillan. She graduated from Cathedral High School, Class of 1950. She married the late Charles A. Kelly on October 21, 1952, in Omaha, NE.
She was a homemaker raising her children and taking care of her home and family. She was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church in Princeton, IL, and also, a member of the Red Covered Bridge Quilting Club. Jean loved to quilt and read. Her greatest joys were spent with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and family.
Jean is survived by her eight children, Charles (Shelley) Kelly of McLean, IL, Thomas Kelly of Farmington, CT, Anita (Susanne Ashby) Kelly of Demopolis, AL, Matthew (Joy) Kelly of Mapleton, IL, James (Sheila) Kelly of Princeton, IL, Margaret "Peg" (Daniel) Maciejewski of Princeton, IL, Christina Kelly of Peoria, IL, and Terrance Kelly of Aurora, IL; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Kelly; parents, Daniel and Ruthe McMillian; and her sister and seven brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Louis Catholic Church in Princeton, IL, or the American Diabetes Association.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Princeton, IL. Visitation will be immediately followed by a Catholic Mass at 10:30 a.m. also at St. Louis Catholic Church in Princeton, IL, officiated by Father Tim Hepner. Graveside services to follow at Elm Lawn Memorial Park in Princeton, IL, June 5, 2021.
