Peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday 8th May 2024, Chrissie Davidson, aged 83 years, West End Drive, Ardersier, much loved wife of Dave, dearly loved mum, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Sadly missed. Funeral Ceremony on Friday 17th May at 12 noon in the Funeral Home of John Fraser & Son, Chapel Street, Inverness. All welcome to attend. Family flowers only please. Peacefully at Highland Hospice on 6th May 2024 with his wife by his side, Squadron Leader, Duncan (Son) Sutherland, aged 64 years, Caulfield Park, Inverness, motor mechanic and gliding instructor. Dearly loved husband of Margaret, a much loved brother, brother in law and uncle. Peacefully at Raigmore Hospital on 30th April 2024, Barbara Fraser Milne (nee Cameron), aged 81 years, Cranmore Drive, Smithton. Beloved wife of the late James Alfred Milne, cherished mum of James, Lizzie, Jenny and Michael, a very special gran and great gran, a dear sister, mother in law, sister in law, aunt and a good friend to many. Funeral ceremony on Thursday 16th May at 12 noon in the Funeral Home of John Fraser & Son, Chapel Street, Inverness; thereafter to Inverness Crematorium. All welcome to attend. Peacefully at Raigmore Hospital on 25th April 2024, Anne-Mary Wharton (nee Paterson), aged 86 years, Beauly. Local historian and author. Beloved wife of the late Iain Wharton. Cremation private at her own request. Memorial service on Monday 20th May at 11.30am in Kilmorack & Erchless Church of Scotland, Croyard Road, Beauly, to which all are welcome to attend. Brough (Rosemarkie)

Alison Brough, Rosemarkie, passed away peacefully holding hands with her two sons, at County Community Hospital, Invergordon, on 29th April 2024, aged 67. Alison was a widow to James Brough, a Mum to Ben and Julian, a Granny to Poppy, Lachlan, Posie, Coralie, and Sunny Bear, a Sister to Michael and Jerry, and an Aunt to Shakti, Mayva, and Ania. Alison had a vivacious and energetic personality crowned with a hooting laugh. She fought bravely against cancer and was inspired to push through the dreaded chemo by her love for her family and friends. Alison had a life long passion for music and a beautiful singing voice. She played a prominent role in music in the local community, first as a teacher, and then through her involvement in various choirs. Alison’s funeral service will take place on Thursday 9th May at 1.30pm, in St Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Fortrose; thereafter to Fortrose & Rosemarkie New Cemetery. All friends and family are invited. Reception afterwards. We encourage you to bring flowers as bright and vibrant as Alison’s personality. Donations, if desired, can be given at the service, and will be directed to the palliative care team at County Community Hospital, Invergordon.

MACDONALD (GLEN URQUHART)

Peacefully, aged 88 years, on April 21st 2024 at Cameron House Care Home, Inverness, James (‘Jim’) MacDonald, of Oakbank, Milton, Glen Urquhart. Retired proprietor of Milton Construction, civil engineer with Duncan Logan Ltd and contracts manager with Lilley Construction on projects throughout the Highlands & Islands. Son of the late Kenneth & Margaret MacDonald, dear brother of the late Ken, Kathleen, Jack & Jennifer, beloved uncle to John, Julia, Somerled and the late Kathleen, also a dear great uncle. Funeral service on Friday 10th May at 12:30pm in Glen Urquhart Free Church, Milton, Drumnadrochit, followed by interment in New Kilmore Cemetery. All friends respectfully invited. Family flowers only please, but donations, if desired, may be given at the service for Glen Urquhart Care Centre or forwarded to the Funeral Directors, John Fraser & Son of Chapel Street, Inverness.

Suddenly while on holiday in Mid Wales on 18th April 2024, Alan Sinclair Drever, aged 83 years, retired Scottish Gas, of Craigton, Cullicudden. Soulmate of Catherine (Kitty), devoted father of Marita, Karen and Alana, and doting papa to his five grandchildren, also a dear brother of Judith and father in law. Funeral service on Wednesday 8th May at 12.30pm in the Funeral Home of John Fraser & Son, Chapel Street, Inverness, to which all are welcome to attend. Thereafter a private family interment. Sue and Kirsty would like to extend their sincere thanks to all their friends, family, and colleagues for the overwhelming support and compassion during their recent loss. Your thoughtful gestures, from heartfelt messages and beautiful flowers to your presence at the funeral service and generous donations to Mikeysline, have been deeply appreciated. ALLAN (Croy)

Jean and the family of the late Major John M. Allan MBE wish to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours who attended the funeral service and donated so generously the amount of £329.50 for the ICU at Raigmore Hospital and for the many cards and expressions of sympathy shown to them in their recent bereavement. The family would also like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and staff at Raigmore, the RNI, Nairn Community Hospital, the NHS Districts Nurses and Castlehill Care Home for all their care. They would also wish to thank the Queen’s Own Highlanders Association and in particular the Pipers who played a big part in the tribute to Dad at both the service and at Kilvean Cemetery. Finaly, a special thanks to Padre Edward Andrews for his uplifting and lovely service and to Drew Green and all at John Fraser & Son of Chapel Street, Inverness for their compassion and support with the funeral arrangements.

The family of the late Alexandrina Cadger wish to express their sincere thanks to all who have shown sympathy to them in their recent bereavement, and to all those who cared for Rena over recent years, including most recently the staff at Ballifeary House Residential Care Home, Inverness. Many thanks to the Rev. Douglas MacKeddie, assisted by the Rev. James Simms, the Rev. Andrew Fraser and Mr Donald McIver, for leading an uplifting service at Knockbain Free Church and for his unfailing support for Rena and the family. We are grateful to all those who attended the funeral service and donated so generously to Raigmore Hospital Urology Department and to Parkinson's UK.
