ESPN recently posted a re-draft of the 2022 NFL Draft and they have the Minnesota Vikings selecting Detroit Lions receiver Jameson Williams.

Before they eventually traded back with the Detroit Lions, the Minnesota Vikings were scheduled to be on the clock in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft with the No. 12 pick. Remaining on the board at the time were a number of talented wide receiver prospects including Jameson Williams, Jahan Dotson, and Treylon Burks.

Obviously, the Vikings traded back and wound up selecting safety Lewis Cine with the No. 32 pick in the first round. But ESPN recently decided to re-draft the first two rounds of the 2022 draft, and for Minnesota, they actually have them remaining in the No.12 spot and using their selection on Williams.

Instead of trading back with an NFC North opponent, ESPN’s Kevin Siefert has the Vikings using the No. 12 pick to select the player that wound up being taken off of the board in the exact same spot by the Lions in the actual draft.

Thanks to suffering a torn ACL last January, Williams only appeared in six games for Detroit during his rookie season. He finished his first year in the NFL with one catch for 41 yards and one touchdown, which happened in a Week 14 win over Minnesota.

As for Cine, the Vikings’ actual first-round pick in 2022, he still landed with Minnesota in ESPN’s 2022 re-draft. But this time, the Vikings used the No. 46 selection in the second round to pick the former Georgia safety.

Neither of Minnesota’s two second-round selections in the actual 2022 draft, Andrew Booth Jr. and Ed Ingram, were picked in ESPN’s 2022 re-draft.
